O'Neal Breaks Ground on Mitsubishi Electric Plant in Memphis

O’Neal Inc. broke ground Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn., on a $200 million project with Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc.

MEPPI, which is based in Pittsburgh, Pa., is building a new power transformer and power components manufacturing plant in Memphis’ Rivergate Industrial Port. O’Neal will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project, which is expected to result in job creation at O’Neal’s three offices and at the Tennessee site.

The 350,000-square-foot plant is expected to start production in Spring 2013.

For 36 years, O’Neal has been delivering capital projects in the automotive, pharmaceutical/biotech, process chemical, manufacturing, energy, and pulp and paper markets worldwide. The company, founded in 1975, has offices in Raleigh, N.C.; Greenville; and Atlanta.
