O'Neal Participates in Hands On Greenville Day (HOG Day)
On Saturday, April 30, 2011, 35 O’Neal team members including the CEO, members from all the design disciplines, support personnel and construction professionals, and their spouses and children, participated in Hands on Greenville Day by providing the good folks at the Frazee Dream Center with help to do some chores to keep the building looking clean and neat.
All skills levels were needed for this project, which involved hanging doors, installing windows, some light painting, and cleaning. It was a great project for the kids — we also cleaned all the toys in the preschool area. Six of the participants were children of team members.
O'Neal has had a team on HOG Day since 2005. This year, our site coordinator was Randy Etzkorn, who was responsible for team assignments and overall management of the site on HOG day.
The day included an after party at Fluor Field from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. with free food (pizza from Papa Johns and sandwiches from Dukes), free beer (Thomas Creek Ale), Pepsi products, chips from Costco and cookies from Subway and, as always, a free t-shirt.
The Frazee Dream Center is a free preschool, after school and summer program for under resourced children in the downtown Greenville area. The program offers assistance and guidance to children ages 3-16 in the areas of academics, character development, sportsmanship and emotional wellness.
