Johns Manville Selects O'Neal for New Plant in Ohio

O’Neal, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Johns Manville (JM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and global building products manufacturer, to design and construct a new commercial roofing single-ply membrane facility in Milan, Ohio. O’Neal will provide Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) services for the project.

“Johns Manville is a leader in their industry, and O’Neal is pleased to help them meet their production goals by designing and constructing this facility,” said Jeff Hall, O’Neal’s Vice President. The production facility will manufacture EPDM rubber roofing products beginning in the second quarter of 2012.

“We have worked with O’Neal on several very important strategic initiatives and have appreciated their focus on value engineering, solid engineering capabilities, and overall capital project management discipline. In our experience working with O’Neal, they work hard to ensure that they know their customer’s needs, which allows them a strong capability to work through any issues,” commented Todd McCollough, Johns Manville’s Director of Capital Projects.

Planning, design and some equipment procurement have already begun on the project. The new facility, a former rubber manufacturing facility, is scheduled to begin renovations in June 2011, with approximately 100 million square feet of manufacturing capacity and production scheduled for mid-2012.
