Project Size: 64,000 square feet
Kens Foods in McDonough, Georgia began its collaboration with O'Neal with a 64,000-square-foot warehouse addition. This design-build project included 35,000 square feet of refrigerated storage and a 12,500-square-foot kitchen. The first addition was constructed on a fast-track delivery method, allowing only six months for both design and construction.

Kens Foods selected O'Neal again to provide three more additions to the existing facility. The additions included the construction of a new area for a blow molding operation and the relocation of the existing blow mold equipment to the new area, the enclosure of the raw materials bulk unloading area for truck and railcar access, and the construction of an employee entrance with new locker rooms. Existing locker rooms were renovated into a training room and additional offices.

Because all work was performed in an operational facility, keeping the production line operating was critical. O'Neal chose to perform all critical work on weekends and after hours. Also, close coordination with the facility staff was needed to get several trucks and railcars unloaded each day.

Kens Foods manufactures six-million gallons of salad dressings and condiments annually and is the countrys largest manufacturer of salad dressings and condiments for distribution to the retail market and food services industry.
