TI Automotive is a global producer and supplier of automotive systems for a wide range of vehicles. The Lavonia facility produces fuel system components for automotive manufacturers located in the southeastern U.S., including BMW and Hyundai.
TI selected O'Neal to deliver the facility on a design-build basis. Recognizing the need to correctly analyze project requirements and quantify their impact on cost, schedule, and facility operation, O'Neal assisted TI with the development of the design while the site search process was ongoing. O'Neal developed criteria for site analysis and provided quantitative analysis to TI for sites under consideration, including site development costs for grading, utilities, and roads. The 25-acre site selected for the facility provided the best combination of benefits to TI.
As part of the design process, O'Neal provided ongoing estimating to ensure that design decisions fell within the project cost model.
The facility produces up to one million fuel tanks per year through its blow-molding process.
