Automated Case Picking + Palletizing Facilities
COCA-COLA
Multiple Facilities, East Coast + West Coast
Scope: Automation Selection, Project Management + Start-up
Major food and beverage producers are modernizing and consolidating warehousing and distribution processes through automation of existing facilities. Coca-Cola selected O’Neal to assist with the installation and startup of two fully automated case picking and palletizing systems. These projects were first by supported by providing construction management services for the building modifications and equipment installation. O’Neal was responsible for on-site supervision with safety oversight, subcontractor coordination and scheduling. Once the facility was ready for commissioning, O’Neal’s engineers performed the Installation Qualification (IQ) and the mechanical punch list for the system installation on behalf of the customer.
After the equipment installation, O’Neal’s advanced facilities group assisted Coca-Cola to write and execute their customer acceptance test plans. These test plans tested both physical throughput capabilities of the system as well as software and interface testing between the Host, WMS and WCS control systems.
